Scammers told the woman Pitt needed funds to pay for a kidney treatment, but couldn’t access his bank accounts due to his grueling divorce from Angelina Jolie.

A representative for Brad Pitt has reacted to the viral story of a French woman who was conned out of her life savings by someone pretending to be the famous actor.

Brad Pitt has criticized the person who scammed a 53-year-old French woman out of $850,000 while pretending to be the Oscar-winning actor. Newsweek emailed a spokesperson for Pitt for comment on Thursday outside of normal business hours.

A French women was duped out of $855,000 by an AI-generated Brad Pitt. Now, the actor is warning fans not to respond to unsolicited online outreach.

Brad Pitt is arguably one of the most famous movie stars. The A-lister's name is recognizable even for non-movie fans so using his name worked extremely well for a scammer and very poorly for a woman believing she was dating the Hollywood star.

The woman had received AI-modified images that showed Pitt hospitalized to support the lie that he was in dire need of expensive kidney treatment.
