NEWBURY PARK, California (KABC) — Ventura County deputies arrested a naked man on a high school football field after a teenager was apparently attacked and died on his way to a hospital.

Jay Merrill, who coached Newbury Park High to a Southern Section baseball championship the year the school opened, has died, apparently of a heart attack, at his home in Las Vegas. He was 67.

A naked man on a high school football field was taken into custody Thursday night in connection with the death of his 15-year-old brother at a nearby residence in Newbury Park, police said.
