The new temple would be the first in Missoula and the third in Montana. The cities of Helena and Billings also have temples. Missoula currently has two chapels for Latter-day Saints.

It is one of 17 new temple locations around the country and the third in Montana. There are currently temples in Billings and Helena. The plans call for a 19,000-square-foot, single-story building.
