Aside from the paid Switch 2 upgrade packs that add extra content and graphical improvements, Nintendo is releasing several free Switch game updates to add a handful of Switch 2-specific features and improve performance on the new console. Third-party game developers will presumably be able to release these kinds of updates as well.
UK video game retailer Game has issued an apology after unexpectedly cancelling some pre-orders for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. The console, the successor to the hugely successful Switch, is scheduled for release on June 5th, leaving affected customers frustrated just a few days before this year's big gaming console drops.
Switch 2 consoles are now out in the wild, but Nintendo has a safeguard in place to stop people from playing the console before launch.
It's recently also been confirmed that Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remaster will also be a Game-Key Card release when it launches on Switch 2 later this year. At the time of writing, only Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition and titles from Marvelous are confirmed to contain the full games on cartridge.
