A jogger was left in a pool of her own blood after a rare animal attack. Eight otters menacingly charged through the Tanjung Aru Recreation Park looking for food in Sabah, Malaysia, on Wednesday.

The otter population is unknown in Sabah, but their presence is an important indicator of the health of riverine areas.

Ms Mariasella, who sustained injuries on her arms, legs and head from the attack, was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kota Kinabalu, the capital city of Sabah, Malaysia, for treatment.
