The Big Red Barn Preschool saw snow yesterday. Preschool owner Scarlet Weatherford said parent Ben White built a snow machine, after reading about the process on-line.

Anderson, who has 40 years of experience in theater, was looking for a venue when she came upon Snow and the Red Barn. " Her enthusiasm attracted me to her because it matches mine," says Anderson.

Snow also helps clarify and distill the essence of Vermont: a red barn, or the curve of a road through a snow-covered forest. In winter, the state becomes more luminous, more elemental, more abstract.
