Salisbury High School’s marching band, the Marching Hornets, were one of the high school bands that participated in the parade. Kenneth Monroe was named the grand marshal of the parade.

A Salisbury icon who filled many hearts with joy and music has died. Melvin Harris Jr., who served as a band director at multiple Wicomico County public schools for 40 years, died Dec. 30. He was 91.
