(WTWO/WAWV) — One local state park has been closed to the public since December 2 for a deer reduction hunt. These reduction hunts are performed by nearly 60 selected hunters at Shakamak.

I recently made a trip down to Shakamak State Park. Shakamak, the seventh state park in Indiana, was established in 1929 on a tract of land donated to the state by Clay, Greene and Sullivan counties.
