A historically neglected area of Central Park now has a new recreation center complete with a massive public swimming pool that can become an ice rink or a public green, depending on the season.

So now the stadium will be bulldozed and a much-needed new swimming pool will be built in its place. The current pool in Central park, really more a pond than a pool, is overrun by geese and ducks.
