The “Nellie White,” named after lily grower James White’s wife, is the most widely grown and distributed lily and with its large, trumpet shaped flowers, it is easy to see why.
Since the late 1800’s the lily has been popular in the United States, except during WWII when Japan cut off the supply of bulbs and caused the value of each one to rise high in cost.
