Gilbert’s Val Vista Lakes homeowners association has backed off its threat to fine residents up to $250 a day for disparaging social media posts, according to a letter from the HOA board's attorney.

Holiday Mountain at Val Vista Lakes, 1600 East Lakeside Drive in Gilbert, is open 6-9 p.m., Sunday-Thursday; and 6-10 p.m., Friday-Saturday. Canned food donations are required for entry.

Several residents of Gilbert’s Val Vista Lakes are being targeted by their HOA over what it views as negative, critical or defamatory online posts.
