The Vatican has found itself a new star — and no, it’s not the “gamer saint.” The Vatican announced the official mascot for Jubilee 2025 on Monday and it’s an anime character named Luce.

Luce will also be the Vatican's mascot for Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, where the Holy See - the governing body of the Catholic Church - will host a pavilion in collaboration with Italy.

It is certainly strange to see The Vatican create its own anime mascot, but let’s face it – stranger things have happened. So maybe, we will see Luce team up with Hello Kitty after the new year.
