Amazon-owned Whole Foods is asking the National Labor Relations Board to set aside the results of a union election that led to a labor win.

The specialty grocer filed objections to the NLRB claiming the UFCW Local 1776 “illegally interfered” with its staffers’ “fair right to vote.”

Employees at the Whole Foods Market Center City store won their unionization campaign through community support and by prioritizing the needs of co-workers.

Workers at a Whole Foods Market in Pennsylvania have voted to unionize, becoming the first group of employees to pull off a labor win at the Amazon-owned grocery store chain.

Austin-based Whole Foods, which is owned by Amazon, is the latest grocery chain to contend with unionization after workers in Philly voted in favor.

Now, a battle lies ahead when working out the first contract between Whole Foods and the unionized workers. "This is going to be the longest uphill battle of our lives, but this is not just for us. This is for the people who come behind us and for the people who have been here," said Khy Adams, a Whole Foods employee.

Last month, workers at a Whole Foods store in Philadelphia voted in favor of joining the United Food and Commercial Workers Union.
