COLUMBIA — Women-owned tattoo shops in Columbia are creating a safe space where people feel welcome — and are welcome to be themselves — all while getting permanent art tattooed on their bodies.

Several Boulder Valley female tattoo artists who experienced workplace sexism at “old-school” tattoo parlors are working to create safe spaces for women in their own shops.
