According to the diocese, the York Deanery has seen a 20% decrease in enrollment and has seen a 40% decrease in the number of baptisms over the past 12 years.

The new school will be called York Catholic Elementary and be located at St. Patrick's, 235 S. Beaver St., in August. Both schools have faced financial challenges, according to a news release.
