There’s only one player who is consistently beating Jannik Sinner. Carlos Alcaraz defeated the top-ranked Sinner again, 7-6 (5), 6-1, to win his first Italian Open on Sunday and add another big clay-court title to his resume.

After an absorbing first set, Sinner's understandable lack of match toughness saw Alcaraz dance to victory in Rome.

Bookmakers consider Alcaraz to be a slight favorite over Sinner to lift the trophy in this year's edition, while other players such as Alexander Zverev, Novak Djokovic, Casper Ruud, Lorenzo Musetti, Jack Draper, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Holger Rune are far behind.
