Upon closer examination, Google, which has partnered with Samsung to create the Android XR operating system platform, is expected to reveal more about the platform during Google I/O 2025 later this month (May). And also hints that XR is coming this year.
Google is likely to show its new Android smart glasses at I/O 2025. The glasses, as shown in prototype, are powered by Gemini AI and are expected to offer real-time translation, transcription, and visual memory features.
Google I/O 2025 begins May 20 with expected launches including Android XR headset, Gemini AI updates, and a Pinterest-like visual search feature.
The tech giant may also demonstrate the integration of its Gemini AI chatbot, in voice mode, with its Android XR glasses and headset, according to the report. Investors have been piling pressure on Google to show returns on the billions poured into artificial intelligence as competition intensifies in the industry.
