Lilac Fire in San Diego County remains fully contained

Update: Border 2 Fire in San Diego County spreads to 5,389.4 acres, remains 10% contained
Border 2 Fire initially started 2:31 p.m. Jan. 23 in San Diego County. After being active for 20 hours, it has burned 5,389.4 acres, an increase of 1,139 acres since the last update. A fire crew of 692 effectively contained 10% of the fire by Friday noon. The blaze's cause remains under investigation.

Firefighters are responding Wednesday to a brush fire in Rancho Bernardo. The fire started around 8:55 a.m. near Bernardo Center Drive and Camino del Norte, according to San Diego Fire-Rescue, which was responding alongside Poway Fire.

Lilac Fire initially started 1:19 a.m. Jan. 21 in San Diego County. It has burned 85 acres after being active for 47 hours. As of Thursday midnight, the blaze has been fully contained by a fire crew of three.
Evacuations Lifted for Lilac Fire in North County; Containment Reaches 90%
Shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday, the San Diego County Sheriff's Office announced in a news release that it had lifted all evacuation orders and warnings for the Lilac Fire, "due to improved containment."
