South Korea's impeached prime minister told parliament on Thursday that "everyone" in a hastily-arranged meeting of ministers expressed concerns about President Yoon Suk Yeol's martial law plan before he announced it on December 3.

South Korean prosecutors on Sunday indicted impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol on rebellion in connection with his short-lived imposition of martial law.

A top South Korean military commander said on Tuesday he trusted President Yoon Suk Yeol to be making a legitimate decision when he declared martial law, but declined to say if the impeached leader gave orders to "drag" lawmakers out of parliament.

Prosecutors indicted detained South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol on Sunday on charges of leading an insurrection with his short-lived imposition of martial law last month.

"The prosecution has decided to indict Yoon Suk Yeol, who is facing charges of being a ringleader of insurrection," Democratic Party spokesman Han Min-soo told a press conference, Reuters reported. "The punishment of the ringleader of insurrection now begins finally.

The commander of a crack South Korean special forces unit told a court Thursday he had been asked by a superior officer how to cut electricity to parliament during last year's failed martial law order by impeached president Yook Suk Yeol.
