The Emirati national guard says it has evacuated 24 people from an oil tanker after a collision between two ships just east of the world’s most critical oil chokepoint, the Strait of Hormuz.

Electronic interference has disrupted navigation systems near the Strait of Hormuz since Iran and Israel began striking missiles at each other last week.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) evacuated 24 crew members from an oil tanker on Tuesday after a collision with another vessel in the Gulf of Oman. The Emirati National Guard said in a statement that it “carried out an evacuation mission involving 24 crew members of the oil tanker ADALYNN, following a collision between two ships in the Gulf of Oman.”
