Skenes (4-6) allowed a run on three hits and a walk over eight innings Tuesday, striking out eight and taking a loss against Houston. It was another terrific outing for Skenes that was dampened by the Pirates' lack of offense.

The Pirates activated Gonzales (ankle) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday. Gonzales has been shelved since late March with a fractured ankle and more recently missed time on his rehab assignment with a sore hand as a result of a hit-by-pitch.
