Reno airport is advising travelers to get a ride during Memorial Day weekend as parking lots are expected to fill up.

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Officials with the Reno Tahoe International Airport say they are expecting a busy Memorial Day weekend. They say that this Friday and Monday, May 26 are projected to be the busiest days, as an estimated 16,000 passengers are expected each day. That would surpass last year’s numbers.

Memorial Day weekend is approaching, and the Reno Fire Department (RFD) is reminding residents to take necessary precautions to help prevent accidental fires, burn injuries and river-related injuries while enjoying the outdoors.

The principal of Reno High School canceled a senior assembly after a break-in and vandalism. "We have made the decision to cancel the Senior Assembly that was scheduled for today," Principal Michael Nakashima said in a note sent to parents.
