Cristiano Ronaldo took to social media to deliver a cryptic message after Al-Nassr failed to qualify for the AFC Champions League, writing "this chapter is over" on his personal platforms.

Upon signing with Al-Nassr in December 2022 for around $200 million per year, it was Ronaldo’s fifth different club across his more-than-two-decade career and was what many thought to be his final destination — that was until his recent cryptic post.

Ronaldo's apparent departure from the Saudi Pro League does have potentially imminent consequences on another major soccer tournament: the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. According to a MARCA report from earlier this month, an unnamed Brazilian club has already given Ronaldo an offer to play for their team during the Club World Cup starting in mid-June.
