Republican Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana grilled Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick on the Trump administration's tariffs.

Kennedy pressed Lutnick during a Senate hearing about the purpose of imposing “reciprocal” tariffs on U.S. trading partners. He asked Lutnick if he would accept a hypothetical deal from Vietnam if the country agreed to remove all tariffs and trade barriers if the U.S. agreed to do the same.
