Over the past week, Southwest Virginia has seen several missing person alerts. The Commonwealth has 6 missing person alerts it sends out, each with its own criteria for how the Virginia state police is allowed to send them out.
The agreements allow for local law enforcement to do some of the work typically reserved for employees with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE.
Virginians who hold a permit to carry a concealed handgun will be able to keep it on their persons or in their cars when visiting Pennsylvania.
Legal analyst Steve Benjamin anticipates Virginia State Trooper Logan Pingley faces a similar situation after being charged with felony threatening. On Wednesday, Albemarle County-based Virginia state trooper Pingley was arrested for making written threats against his neighbor.

Virginia State Police say the incident began around 9 p.m. on June 8 when troopers attempted to stop a dark blue Cadillac for reckless driving on I-264 westbound in Virginia Beach. The driver refused to stop, leading officers on a pursuit that exited the interstate and veered into oncoming lanes of traffic.
During the pursuit, the Cadillac exited the interstate at Birdneck Road and entered the city of Virginia Beach, where the driver traveled into the opposite travel lanes against the flow of traffic. The driver continued traveling in the wrong direction until troopers struck the vehicle at the off ramp of I-264 east, disabling the vehicle.
