A fire broke out at an iconic car wash in Mountain View early Sunday morning that is being investigated by the Mountain View Police Department.

Rick Tillery, spokesman for Mountain View Fire Rescue, said due to the department growing so large and being spread out geographically, it made sense to add “extra weight” to crews.

An electric vehicle’s charging system is being blamed for sparking a blaze that spread to three other cars in a Mountain View parking lot Thursday afternoon, the fire department said.
