The Oklahoma Sooners have hired a new head trainer after injuries piled up for the program in 2024.

Texas beat Oklahoma north of the Red River for the first time since 2014 on Saturday, and the Sooners now face elimination.

Texas defeated Oklahoma 4-2 in a rematch of the 2024 Women's College World Series final. It's the Longhorns' first win over the Sooners in the WCWS.

While Oklahoma took the first game with a 5-1 win, Alabama pitcher Jocelyn Briski held the Sooners offense to two hits and one run off a solo home run, while the Crimson Tide secured the 6-1 victory with seven hits and two home runs by Kari Heivilin and Abby Duchscherer.

They may not be in the top ten in recruiting when it comes to 2026 class rankings, but the Oklahoma Sooners have been on a hot streak for the last month or so. They have landed some really good players that they know will help their program.
