This week on " Rides with Jay Thomas," Jay catches up with Michael Shirk to check out a 1969 AMC Javelin SST. Shirk’s owned this car since 1975, and he lives and breathes AMC.

AMC had already been dabbling in performance with the first-gen Javelin, but the 1971 Javelin AMX was an all-new beast. It was longer, lower, wider, and bolder—both on the street and on the track.
