PIET van der Pol — the head of the new consortium that has bought Adelaide United — says the identities of the other three owners will remain shrouded in secrecy to protect their privacy.

Prominent Adelaide lawyer Greg Griffin says the sale of the A-League side Adelaide United was the result of a handshake agreement he had with Robert Gerrard, one of his fellow owners.

Bayern Munich have signed 17-year-old Australian prospect Nestory Irankunda from Adelaide United. The winger will join Bayern from the A-League side on July 1, 2024, at which point he will be 18.
