The redesigned 2023 BMW X1 is a polished and plucky small SUV that delivers spirited acceleration, engaging road manners and a new multimedia system that’s both tech-forward and straightforward.

The X1’s nav system, branded as iDrive, features a large 10.3-inch LCD screen mounted into the dashboard and is turned out well, with detailed maps that can be viewed in 2D and 3D.

The dash is bit old school in terms of plastics. But, under the skin, this is a 3 Series, and it handles and feels like a BMW. The new X1 lacks the feel and handling, but has a nice interior.
