A Bulgarian rapper has got into hot water for allegedly offending the symbols of the state, in a move that has once again raised concerns about freedom of speech.

The immense 1,110sq/m flag, meant to symbolise Bulgaria's territory of 111,000sq/km, was hoisted up the record-breaking 111m pole last week in a forest meadow in the Rhodope mountains.
