A 3.3-magnitude earthquake shook the Arcata area in Northern California, the U.S. Geological Survey reported. The 14-mile deep quake hit 2 miles from Arcata at 9:50 p.m. Sunday, according to the USGS.
Hundreds of boats were out across Lake Tahoe Saturday when the weather took a dramatic turn. Winds picked up and waves became dangerous, capsizing several boats.
