Scarleth Urgiles, 19, who attended East Hampton High School, was pronounced dead at the scene. Six others were hospitalized. The school says they are offering support services to students.
According to East Hampton Town Police, the single-car crash happened on Stone Highway near Deep Six Drive. Police say the vehicle left the roadway, overturned and struck a tree on Sunday night.
He will be arraigned in East Hampton Town Justice Court. Police are investigating what led to the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call East Hampton Police at 631-537-7575.
