The East Lansing School Board voted unanimously on Monday to rename Pinecrest Elementary School, pictured here in 2012. It will be known as Dr. Robert L. Green Elementary.

Dr. Robert L. Green is a national leader in civil rights and is believed to be the first Black person to have purchased a home in East Lansing, in 1964.
