A video game based on Marvel's "Black Panther" has been scrapped at Electronic Arts as part of the closure of Cliffhanger Games and layoffs.

Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:EA) said its decision to pull the plug on its Black Panther game and close the studio making is not indicative of a major change with the Marvel partnership. The company confirmed this week that it still has at least three additional Marvel games in development.

Electronic Arts has canceled its third-person single-player game based on Marvel’s Black Panther franchise and will shut down developer Cliffhanger Games, according to an IGN report.
