The White House submitted a rescission package to Congress earlier this week asking legislators to rescind $9.4 billion in federal funding that was approved earlier in the year, including more than $1 billion for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

Senate Democrats warn Trump plan to wipe out public broadcasting funding will shut down stations, eliminate essential services. But House GOP scheduled to vote to clawback $1.1 billion next week.
