Congressman Tim Kennedy was in Buffalo on Wednesday to announce $625,000 of new federal funding for the NFTA to evaluate transit-oriented projects at the LaSalle and DL&W Metro Rail Stations.

The city wants to turn the LaSalle station and 7 acres of surrounding land in University Heights into a new transit-oriented mixed-use project, including a blend of housing and first-floor retail.
