Minnesota shooting suspect didn’t have ‘hit list’ with Illinois names, Pritzker saysGov. JB Pritzker said on Monday that investigators on the shootings of Minnesota lawmakers over the weekend did not see any active threat to Illinois officials.
SAFETY CALL: The Illinois State Police is working with Gov. JB Pritzker and top legislative leaders to offer increased security after the horrific news that two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses were gunned down, killing that state’s former House speaker.
Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker said it was "a horrible day for Minnesota" after lawmakers Melissa Hortman and John Hoffman and their spouses were shot in separate attacks. Hortman and her husband were killed.
Vance Boelter, 57, had three semiautomatic rifles and two handguns, one in pieces, when he murdered a state lawmaker and her husband, authorities said.
It wasn’t immediately clear if the Michigan officials’ names were featured in a potential target list or simply mentioned in documents written by Vance Boelter, the suspect.
Listed at 6-foot, 180 pounds, Lampkins is projected to play safety at Minnesota. The Gophers' top competition in his recruitment was Bowling Green, which he visited last weekend. He previously announced that he would make his official commitment on June 18, but Minnesota convinced him to make it official on Sunday.
