Legends” is right there in the title: “legends,” as in multiple. Many beloved “Karate Kid” characters and icons of millennial sports movies enter the ring, but in the ensuing melee, no one emerges victorious.

In the past three years, I’ve endured sequels to “Top Gun,” “Ghostbusters,” and “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” These sequels are all descendants of 1980s movies, and they’ve all been mediocre to bad.

Legends makes the strange decision to blend two very different movies into one. And yet...it mostly works. Here's our review.
