Shortlisted for lighting design of the year at Dezeen Awards 2020, Illan Pendant Lamp has been made from thin laser-cut birch plywood sheets designed by Zsuzsanna Horvath and Strips & Stripes.

The “Anila Quayyum Agha: Interwoven” exhibition at the Wichita Art Museum includes about 40 pieces created over the past two decades.

Several prototypes were 3D-printed to test and develop the design, the wood is laser cut into shape to make the final product. Aluminium spacers sit on 6mm metal rods that distance the ribs.
