Huge flames and smoke hung over the water at Seaview Harbor Marina early Monday morning. In the parking lot, dozens of emergency response vehicles stood ready as firefighters battled the flames.

The fire at the Seaview Harbor Marina in Longport broke out around 1 a.m. Joe Stewart who works at the Marina tells Eyewitness News the flames destroyed two boats about 58 to 65 feet long.

Marina Palms Yacht Club & Residences, which is nearing completion on its first condominium tower in North Miami Beach, said it is sticking with Coastal Construction to build its second tower.

It happened around 1 a.m. at the Seaview Harbor Marina, where both boats sank into roughly 8 feet of water. They continued to burn even after being submerged.
