Maryland Fishing Report for Thursday, March 27, 2025Maryland DNR in cooperation with civic and municipal organizations hold youth events called “fishing rodeos” from spring through fall at small community ponds and lakes throughout the state.
Some ponds will close after Youth Trout Fishing Day until the traditional opening day on March 29. Maryland's coldwater hatcheries produce more than 200,000 trout annually for the stocking program.
