Allen Gwinn, park ranger at Raystown, said the lake is one of the corps’ 16 flood-control projects. This one is designed to slow the flow of water toward Mt. Union, Lewistown and Harrisburg.

The agency stocked 8,200 4-inch to 5-inch purebred striped bass Aug. 30 in Raystown. That’s in addition to 133,609 smaller fingerlings that were released in the lake this summer.
