A fire started at the former St. Agnes church and rectory Monday in the area of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Bethune street in Detroit. Detroit Fire Department responded to the scene and the cause is under investigation.

The Detroit Fire Department received a call at 12:34 a.m. about a blaze at the site of the former St. Agnes Catholic Church, at the corner of Rosa Parks and LaSalle Gardens, said Corey McIsaac, the DFD director of media relations.

A fire burned at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Detroit early Tuesday, damaging the building that has stood at the corner of Rosa Parks and LaSalle Gardens for more than a century.
