Chief Paul Humphrey said Wednesday the weekend presence was a direct result of the department's new crime plan.

During a biweekly news conference Wednesday, LMPD said it plans to place more officers along the Highlands-Bardstown Road corridor, especially on weekends.

Sky Premium Lounge is expected to hold a grand opening this weekend at 1066 Bardstown Road, next to Highlands Tap Room.

The response comes after last weekend’s unrest, when a crowd swelled into the street, sparking multiple fights.
