Hollywood made its return to Utah Thursday for the first day of the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. It's expected to bring in thousands of people from all over the world, creating a big payoff for Utahns and businesses.

As Sundance considers moving out of Utah, the indie film community weighs how much of its identity is rooted in Park City.

This year saw a slightly subdued Sundance with more first-time directors, resulting in slightly less star power on Main Street—until Sunday, at least, when Jennifer Lopez arrived for the premiere of Kiss of the Spider Woman.
