The bridge that connects downtown to South Knoxville over the Tennessee River has been closed to cars and pedestrians since June 25.
The Montgomery County Commission has approved a resolution asking the Tennessee Department of Transportation to fully fund a pedestrian bridge across Purple Heart Parkway.
