Texas Longhorns softball's win in the National Championship marks tremendous progress for their program, but also for female athletics in general at Texas.

While Scott shined in her own right, Texas pitcher, Teagan Kavan, won the Most Outstanding Player of the Women's College World Series. She pitched 31.2 innings during the WCWS, allowing a total of zero runs. After the game, Kavan revealed that she dedicated the victory to her late grandmother who passed away last week.
