In his dedication to serving others, Bast was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Stratford Branch 8, for 20 years.

The Maurice Rollins Youth Leadership award was established in 2002 to recognize Maurice Rollins and to celebrate exemplary youth in our community for their commitment to leadership and volunteerism.
