When Westfarms mall opened in 1974, its tenants included Kinney Shoes, Weathervane, and Herman’s World of Sporting Goods. They sold the basics — the bread and butter in apparel for young families.

The mall is also installing new glass elevators, and making changes to entrances, landscaping, lighting, flooring, seating areas, and restrooms to accommodate a more upscale look and feel.
